About the Pool Party
In 1998, Jose Canseco hosted a pool party at his house in Miami, Florida.
At this point, a complete roster of party attendees is not known, but is a subject of much conjecture across the media landscape.
Former teammates of Jose’s from the Toronto Blue Jays attended, which may or may not include Darrin Fletcher, Carlos Delgado, Ed Sprague, Juan Samuel, Shawn Green, Benito Santiago, Alex Gonzalez, Jose Cruz (Jr. presumably), Craig Grebeck, Woody Williams, Dave Stieb, Randy Myers, Pat Hentgen, Chris Carpenter, Juan Guzman, and most notably — Roger Clemens.
Jose’s then-wife Jessica and Roger Clemens’s wife Debbie may or may not have compared breast enhancement results some time during the festivities.
One thing is certain — the notion of a Jose Canseco Pool Party is probably one of the most awesome things ever imagined. As Bill Simmons suggested, the list of pool parties throughout history — both real and fictitious — that can rival this one’s greatness is extremely short.
This site is dedicated to the memory of Jose Canseco’s Pool Party, and the hope for another pool party, at a location to be determined, sometime in the near future.
Accordingly, Jose Canseco’s Pool Party will cover baseball, pool parties, Jose Canseco, and anything else loosely associated with any or all of those things.
